Information
Hoag
Cancer Center
Hoag Cancer Center was built with one fundamental
principle in mind: providing state-of-the-art
cancer care in a comforting, patient-friendly
setting. Today the 65,000 square foot center is
home to the greatest collection of cancer technology
in Orange County, as well as a staff of dedicated
and caring professionals, many of whom have been
a part of the cancer center since the doors opened
in 1991.
Hoag Cancer Center is firmly planted on the leading-edge
of cancer treatment and offers patients a full
range of traditional cancer therapies, as well
as access to new investigational treatments. Hoag’s
multidisciplinary approach emphasizes aggressive
treatment with a combination of therapies to give
patients the best hope for a cure.
Survivial rates are steadily on the rise for cancer
patients - and that fact is more evident than
ever at Hoag Cancer Center. Hoag’s survival rates
exceed national averages for each of the four
major cancers: lung, prostate, breast and colorectal
(as reported by the National Cancer Institute’s
Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER)
program). The best news is that Hoag’s survival
rates continue to climb because the center is
committed to continuously introducing the latest
treatments to Orange County.
With its personal touch and tailored treatments,
Hoag Cancer Center is winning the war against
cancer - one patient at a time.
Child Guidance Center
Over 19,000 children were reported to the OC Child Abuse Registry as physically abused and or neglected in 2007. That’s a sad reflection of just how many Orange County children and their parents are hurting and in need of help. Regrettably, the negative consequences of untreated child abuse become more pronounced for the child with each passing year. What may have originally been a matter of a hurting child, can too easily become that of a hurting, indiscriminately angry or underachieving adolescent with untold negative consequences for that adolescent and for the community.
Child Guidance Center, Inc., a 501 C (3) non-profit, works with as many of those children and parents as it possibly can through its innovative, award-winning child abuse prevention and treatment programs. Less than 1% of children and families seen 10 or more visits in our Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) programs are referred a second time for abuse-related reasons. Child Guidance needs your support today to make an immediate significant difference in the lives of the many more children and families that need to be served.
